Spring/Summer 23 Artisan Collection

We pay homage this season to the artisans who have paved the way creatively for all of us to follow. The weavers, beaders, embroiderers, printers, carvers, basketmakers and lacemakers who have honed these crafts over centuries, inspiring and teaching the next generations who in turn refine the craft further keeping the skills and techniques alive.

We love beautiful details and garments that are worthy of a second glance, which is when they reveal their true beauty. The theme of our collection allows us to explore trimmings and embellishments, often creating our own to achieve the desired outcome.

Our prints reference traditional forms of dyeing and printmaking such as batik, ikat, and woodcut, as well as crafts such as collage, embroidery, beading, and tapestry which are all modernised with our unique feminine aesthetic, and contemporary colour palettes. Borders mimic trims with printed faggoting, lace and beading.

Blues are heroed; think cobalt, aqua, and azure accented with coffee, lilac and sherbert pink. Persimmon and mango play unexpected supporting roles, pivotal to the main plot of the colour stories.

Divine voiles in silk/cotton have been explored further this collection allowing for newness of styling and making the most of the uniqueness of these important natural fibres. Viscose yoryu has been used extensively throughout, both printed and plain, supported by silk touch viscose, linens and ultra luxe stretch silk.

Suiting features hand stitching in contrast neutrals, or sophisticated plaids with subtle metallic shimmer, with playful gingham and puppytooth pique cropped novelty jackets. Pants evolve from a relaxed tapered leg, through tulip denim to divine stretch silk palazzo styling. Skirts are bias cut A- line with inserted flounces, layered tulle confections or tiered cotton voile with inserted ruffles.

Blouses and tops feature sleeve ruffles, inserted trims and subtle scarfing edge treatments. These are balanced by tees in stretch silk, cotton jersey with lace embellishment, or broderie anglaise sleeves.

Dresses skim the silhouette a little closer, showing off the figure in a flattering light. Hemlines are raised to the knee for a selection of shorter day dresses, or longer where elegance is required for special occasions. New this season we present three Heroine dresses. Designed for women who are seeking something truly special and aspirational; these are dresses to admire and desire, where our design team have pushed the boundaries beyond sensibility.

We are enjoying the resurgence of this crafted look; it’s fresh and new but also feels familiar and comforting as we continue the next chapter of our luxe bohemian journey.

Loobie’s Story – a love for life and a life well lived.
